Every day we are given choices, beginning with our expectations, visualizing the day’s events. Depending what our plans might be, things don’t always necessarily mean they will go accordingly. In fact, many times there are unforeseen events that seem to take place throughout our days, disrupting a routine or otherwise. It begins with our attitude and what we want to achieve, because thoughts are not enough, it’s taking positive actions with our feelings in order to accomplish positive daily living.

Energy, clarity and happiness all stem from evoking positive thinking. We have total control of our thoughts, which means we are in control of our own lives. The mind is an unbelievable force, so filling it with hope, love, and feelings of strength is not only uplifting, but a positive reinforcement that will shine through us allowing others to see and seek us out. It’s just like the quote “Attitudes are contagious”... so is happiness.

Positive thinking has also been linked to being a stress reducer, according to the Mayo Clinic. Typically ... an optimistic person has a more positive outlook on life and less stress as well. The ability to handle a certain unpleasantness in a productive manner usually exhibits strength, along with a positive personality. Researchers have provided a list of health benefits for those people that are positive thinkers and doers, here are just a few; lower rates of depression, greater resistance to colds, and better coping skills during hardships and times of stress, a better psychological and physical well being, and the list goes on. There are plenty of ways that one can develop positive thinking skills if the interest is serious enough. One of my favorite websites is www.mindtools.com . You can learn a range of skills, starting with time management and tools used for decision making or strategy skills, whatever you may be looking for, you just might find it here. Searching for a “silver lining” so to speak, is another way to be positive, thinking ahead and envisioning a future with dreams, making goals for achievements to become possible. Another website of interest is www.positivethinking-toolbox.com you can find daily affirmations, stories, quotes and much more. Finding time to do some personal research is well worth it while reading positive articles, besides ... knowledge is “key” to establishing a solid foundation for one self, as well as becoming more productive and mindful.

Whatever my future brings, I am going to be more mindful and positive every day I wake up on the right side of my bed. I will choose to be positive (as I usually am at my job), but to look on the brighter side of life, not dwelling on the negatives, so I may be more energetic ... while believing that this journey is like a roller coaster, but no matter what will always bring a smile to my face. I will cherish my memories and be grateful for all that I have, not concentrating on the things I do not have, for it is not worth worrying about. Positive feelings of wellness and gratitude are just the beginning of things to come.

Make your week count
