The True Power Of The Mind- The Wisdom Of Napoleon Hill

No other person explains the true power of the mind better than the godfather of personal success and achievement Napoleon Hill.

When I first watched this video some time ago I couldn’t believe the parrallels it had with my own life.

He just like me had limiting beliefs in his own abilities.

When his then coach, the great Andrew Carnegie asked him to become a teacher to the world of the philosophies of success, he pinpointed his youth, lack of education and finances as the obstacles to prevent him from doing so.

When I was playing professional rugby I also succumbed very often to the limiting beliefs I carried around with me.

Was I fit enough? Was I strong enough? Was I skillful enough? Was I good enough?

What Carnegie’s response was when Hill mentioned these limitations to him, hit me like a tonne of bricks:

“When you speak of poverty and lack of education you are simply directing your mind power to attract these undesirable circumstances because it is true that whatever your mind feeds upon your mind attracts to you.”

The other thing which he also talks about, that struck such a chord that I’m sure people could have heard it from the other side of town where I was living, was when he mentions that we all bring over at birth the equivalent of 2 sealed envelopes- envelopes which we are blessed to have a choice of which one we open and use during our life.

I won’t go into too much detail about this here,  as I’ll just leave you watch the video for yourself.

But what I will say is,  I unfortunatley opened and used the wrong envelope for too large a part of my life and paid a dear price.  The emotions, feelings and results I experienced during these times were so exact and precise to what Napolean Hill talks about,  it left me feeling extremely frustrated but also liberated in equal measures.

Frustrated with how stupid I’ve been for all those years, sabotaging my childhood rugby dreams and desires due to the limiting thoughts I was constantly thinking, and liberated that I now knew what I needed to do and how to get started doing it.

I will leave you with the statement that Hill opens this video with and also became one of his hallmark expressions: “What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve”

So harness and unleash the true power of the mind. In doing so you won’t just achieve, you will achieve BIG.
